Aberaeron Village, Ceredigion, old County of Dyfed.Description: Former shipbuilding centre, now a holiday resort popular with sailors. Local knowledge: Aeron Express Aerial Ferry across harbour claims to be the world's first passenger-carrying ropeway, revived from 1885 origins. Clìs Pencarreg Craft Centre. Aquarium: Sea Aquarium and Animal Kingdom attraction on quay. Building: Nearby Llanerchaeron (National Trust) a rare survivor of Welsh gentry estate. Main house (not open) by John Nash, 1794-6. Home farm, gardens, grounds. Restoration in progress. Famous people: Opera star Sir Geraint Evans lived here. Former shipbuilding centre, now a holiday resort popular with sailors.Swimming pool: Indoor pool.
